Recently, digital technology has been also widely introduced in the field of architecture. The digitalization of the design process is enabling dramatic changes in the manufacturing technology for non-standardized parts in building production, such as the ability to design complex shapes and forms that do not rely on rectangular boxes at a practical level.
Furthermore, if building technology for non-standardized parts is established, a number of benefits such as ensuring construction accuracy, improving safety during construction, and shortening the construction period are expected.
This is realized by Digital Construction. Digital construction is systemization technology that links “design”, “production”, and “construction” as axes in order to improve the productivity of the “non-standardized construction method” which is suited for buildings with new geometric shapes, and to create computerization information for the purpose of enhancing its feasibility.
Among them, 3D construction guidance technology, construction robotics technology, and IoT technology for parts are key technologies that renovate conventional standardized architecture.
Finding the problem
Future-oriented architecture that is friendly to both people and the environment is expected by incorporating “new values” such as adaptability, resilience, sustainability, and disaster resistance into architectural design.
Digital construction is not limited to innovation in building technology, but can create new building value with high productivity.
Digital construction can contribute to solving architectural functional requirements, such as simulation of spatial elements such as structure, light, sound, heat, air conditioning, air flow, and environmental factors, and complex three-dimensional relationships that have been difficult to design can be verified on a computer.
Therefore, I would like to specialize in the fusion of architectural design and information science, and design a building structure that is geometrically embodied in functional beauty in accordance with digital construction techniques.

By studying with Professor Yasushi Ikeda, who is researching innovative architectural design and its realization through practical projects, I am sure that I could obtain various perspectives regarding my research and it would open up new horizons for me.
Therefore, I believe that Keio University’s Faculty of Environment and Information Studies is the most suitable place for pursuing my research and social contributions, and I am aspiring to enter your school and study in your laboratory.
