Introduction to the discussion
The situation in the rural part of China is changing dramatically.
After the economic system reform (Reform and Opening-Up Policy) in 1978, they faced the problems of a huge population flowing out into urban areas and the increase of income disparity inside rural areas.
As a result of the economic reform, certainly some people became wealthy, but on the contrary, income disparity became larger than before.
In order to achieve the goal of agricultural policy set by the Chinese government, it is important to reform the farming village itself, in addition to agricultural reform.
Finding the problem
In your study on rural “communities”, the nature of joint relations in the rural part of China before the economic reform is examined. However, this study does not take geographical elements into account, and the driving force behind the movement at the base level has not been clarified, so it cannot be said that it provides useful information in rural reform.
In considering the effectiveness of a policy, verification at the micro-level is considered unnecessary, but relying solely on a macro perspective cannot lead to a discussion of why the policy is effective.
Therefore, verification at the base level in rural areas is considered necessary.
Therefore, I would like to collect as much information as possible in the region and analyze the changes that each village has followed to clarify what factors contribute greatly to the changes in the village.
To that end, I would like to join SFC and belong to Associate Professor Haolan Zheng’s laboratory.
Examining the conclusion
By studying with Associate Professor Haolan Zheng, who has a leading expert in this field, and by touching research in a wide range of fields, I am sure that I could obtain various perspectives regarding my research and it would open up new horizons for me.
Therefore, I believe that Keio University’s Faculty of Policy Management is the most suitable place for pursuing my research and social contributions, and I am aspiring to enter your school and study in your laboratory.
